Waterloo Fencing is a booking line. It is not a fencing company and does not present itself as one. This site is specific about the by-law because Waterloo's rules differ from its neighbours' in ways that cost money when they are got wrong — the flankage yard limit on corner lots, the size of the daylight visibility triangle, the self-closing gate requirement on pool enclosures, and the City's opt-out from the Line Fences Act. The figures quoted here are City of Waterloo By-law 2013-017 and 2013-018 as published in 2026, and they apply inside the City. Properties in Woolwich or Wellesley Township are governed by their own by-laws, which are not the same, and the applicable one gets checked against the address before a height is quoted. Where something is the City's to confirm — a pool permit, the footing depth for your lot — this site says so rather than inventing a figure.

Some work gets turned down: fences across a boundary that is genuinely disputed, jobs needing a survey nobody will pay for, and pool enclosures on a timeline that cannot fit a permit and an inspection. Better declined than started.
